Job Description
REGISTERED NURSE - SURGERY
Complete Description
Provides self directed nursing care to pediatric through geriatric populations in the perioperative setting including, but not limited to: assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care; and administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by the independent, licensed practitioner as authorized by the laws of the state. Communicates with the other members of the perioperative team to assure continuity of care. Manages resources to ensure the appropriate needs of the surgical team are met. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Completion of an accredited school of professional nursing. Current Florida Registered Nurse Licensure. Previous (specialty specific) experience preferred. Minimum 1 year immediate med/surg experience to enter perioperative orientation program. Ability to communicate with all levels of hospital personnel. BLS required within 30 days. Specialty certification preferred (CNOR, CPAN).
