Job Description Description:
Jubilee Association of Maryland provides quality group home and supported living services for adults who have developmental disabilities.
This is a full-time exempt position expected to require 40 or more hours weekly. Hours may be somewhat flexible but will involve some late afternoon, evening and occasional weekend day hours.
The Registered Nurse will:
1. Supervise delegated nursing functions performed by direct service staff .
2. Determine and assess when nursing functions may be delegated and perform a review of those functions at least every 45 days. (This will usually occur at residences when people are home in the evenings or on weekends.)
3. Actively use applicable regulations, policies and procedures to manage nursing functions at Jubilee.
4. Train, authorize and oversee staff who administer medications; provide consultation as needed and follow procedures to report and address medication errors.
5. Provide other health-related training to individuals and groups of employees.
6. Attend client Interdisciplinary Team Meetings upon request, as scheduling permits.
PERSONS SERVED: Jubilee Association serves adults with developmental disabilities including cognitive disabilities, epilepsy, autism and cerebral palsy. Persons served may have other diagnoses, including mental illness, dementia, diabetes, etc.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
Additional Qualifications:
Registered Nurse, licensed in Maryland.
Experience with developmental disabilities required, preferably in community-based residential services.
Understanding of community integration and normalization of people with developmental disabilities.
