Job Description
Ortho-Registered Nurse
12 hour day shift
Under direct supervision the incumbent provides, in a safe environment, direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting following established policies, procedures, standards of care and standards of practice as outlined by the ANA and Redding Medical Center. The RN demonstrates clinical competence by utilizing the nursing process. The incumbent must assess and identify patient problems, establish a plan of care, set goals, implement and evaluate nursing care/interventions for a specific patient or group of patients. The incumbent staff member also demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the specific patient group.
