Job Description Nurse Manager - Medical Surgical/Orthopedics
Full-Time Exempt Opportunity available
General Summary: The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing departmental activities to ensure quality services for both internal and external customers. Manages resources and leads staff in collaboration with others to advance the hospital mission. Seven (7) day a week, 24 hour a day responsibility for one unit or small scope service areas. Assists with the developing, reviewing and planning the implementation of Patient Care Division programs, policies, and procedures. Accountable for financial operations and implementation of CHMC's (and service line) goals within their area of responsibility.
Requirements: BSN required. Masters Degree in nursing or related field preferred. Three or more years progressive experience in area of expertise, with two years experience in a nursing leadership role preferred. Licensure in the state of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
Registered Nurse First Assistant
Full Time - Days
General Summary:
Serves as the First Assistant to the surgeon during those surgical procedures requiring an assistant. Functions under the direct supervision of the surgeon, performing only those functions specifically stated in a manner consistent with his/her training.
Requirements:
Must possess current State of Michigan RN license with two (2) or more years experience in perioperative services. Certification in Perioperative Nursing, Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), or eligible with completion within one (1) year of hire. Certification for First assistant through National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA) or completion within two (2) years of hire. Course must include didactic and supervised clinical learning activities. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
SIGN-ON BONUS:
$15,000 (full-time) - 3 year commitment
$10,000 (full-time) - 2 year commitment
$5,000 (full-time) - 1 year commitment
